Add an account holder

If something happened to you and someone else needed to speak to the utility companies on your behalf... could they?

Action: Make sure at least one other person is named on all the household accounts. This includes the utilities, phone and broadband accounts, insurances, subscriptions and so on.

Build your back-ups

Do you have a Facebook account? What would you like to happen to it if something happened to you? Kept active? Memorialised? Closed?

Action: Not every platform has the ability to nominate a legacy contact but it’s worth setting up those that do:

Set up your Facebook Legacy Contact

Set up Apple Legacy Contact in iOS 15.2 or later

Set up Google’s Inactive Account Manager

Clarify your organ donation wishes

Did you know the law around organ donation changed in England in 2020 and in Scotland in 2021? Do you need to register to 'opt-out'?

Action: If you DO NOT wish to be an organ donor, you need to register your decision (but it also makes sense to register if you do - the link is the same!)
